Solving our parking issue in Shepherdstown together

Since I have created this group I have had many great conversations with residents, business owners, and students. So many people have great ideas on how we can resolve this issue. I do not think any one option by itself will solve our parking issue. I think we should have a well thought out plan that has many facets. Below are a few ideas that have come up.

Possible ways to improve parking
- Request that Shepherd University creates more parking on west side of campus with possible parking garage
- Request that Shepherd University increases the amount of buses that pickup at the H lot
- Request that Shepherd University does not allow students to have cars the first 2 years of attending the University
- Request that Shepherd University plant more trees and make the sidewalks and paths more pleasurable to travel throughout campus.
- Request that Shepherdstown have 25% of the parking meters to be only 50 minutes to keep them shorter then college courses.
- Shepherdstown creates parking on the south west side of town
- Increase Parking Meter enforcement

Do you have an additional solution that has not been presented? Please post yours here or on facebook. Also, check out a well written blog post by Richard Anderson.
